ClefWorks musicians will discuss and rehearse Franz Schubert's String Quartet in D minor, "Death and the Maiden," which will be performed at the RSA Activity Center the following night. Audience members will see and hear the practical application of the skills discussed in the masterclass as the musicians prepare a musical composition for performance.

The Arsenal Trio—pianist Jihye Chang, violinist Benjamin Sung and cellist Hrant Parsamian—will rehearse Mike Barnett’s original score Ask the Wind, winner of ClefWorks’ 2007 Composition Competition. Mike Barnett will be present to speak about his music, take questions from the audience and work with the performers to polish the piece for the following night’s début performance at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts..
